I came back from AC up $750. Jim didn't believe that the Borgata likes to give me money. I won almost $500 the first night at the Sands. I won $75 at blackjack while waiting for a poker tournament to start. The tournament was $20/10 with a $20 add-on after the first hour and after a while of doing decently in chips, I put the short stack all in with my pocket Q's. He called with 9,8 off and ended up sucking me out with a straight on the river. After that I was severely short stacked for the next 2 hours. I won a little here and lost a little there, then ended up being almost blinded in when they were 2000-4000. I had 5000 left on the big blind with A4 clubs and pushed all in. I got called by pocket K's and thought I was done for, but I sucked out on him with a flush. Then I pushed in again on the next hand with pocket 6's against pocket 8's and I thought I was done again, but I got a 6 on the river and then had a decently sized stack. Then I kept catching cards and took the next 15 or so hands to take out everyone at my table except for one person who barely hung on to reach the final table. I came into the final table with over 200,000 chips, easily double the next chip stack, then proceeded to catch cards...unfortunately, they were only enough to play and not enough to win. Jim made it to the final table too and he happened to draw the seat next to me with me in seat 1 and him in seat 2. I put him all in when I had pocket J's, figuring he'd fold because he should know I wouldn't push him around unless I had a better hand since it's in my best interest that he last longer in the tournament. He called anyways with pocket 6's and ended up pulling a 6 on the turn. Then he pissed the chips he won off me away in the next hand. I came up against better cards and better players and I got the distinct feeling of being outplayed, but by then there were only 3 of us left and I was short-stacked. I was blinded in, which really sucks because there was one hand where I had pocket 4's and didn't play because a relatively tight player pushed in. I should have played, but I didn't. Boo. Anyways, I was blinded in with 10,4 off and the guy had J4 and nothing came so he high-carded me out of the tournament. I walked away with $414 that I had to split with Jim. He went out 6th and got $188, so we split down the middle with $301 each.
Saturday I proceeded to win - over $200 on a slot fluke, $40 at BJ that I brought to the poker table and, after a good 7 hours of play, turned my $140 into $409. Meanwhile, Jim was losing almost all his $ and hung on to a bit to bring to the tables on Sunday. Both of us lost on Sunday. Jim lost all the rest of his $ and I lost $180 that I could have won back had I not had to catch a bus home. For the rest of the night, Jim was all defeated and sad. All in all, we had a great comped room, mostly comped food courtesy of Jim's high-rolling great aunt and I came home with a lot more $$ than I went there with. Yay me!
I just played a tournament with 1118 people on partypoker. I came in 32 and they payed out to 30th. Grrr.
