What did you do this weekend?
I spent Saturday pretty much sitting around the house with the husband. I did take Rayden to the dog park and Jim and I gave him a bath when we got home. Yesterday, I spent $200 on basically just a bunch of food, more deodorant than I can use in a year, and some light bulbs. Yeah...that's a lot of food. Jim and I took the dog on the Metro North up to Myra's where we went to Costco and Stew Leonard's. I have to say, had I bought all that in the city, it would have easily cost double what I paid, but thank god for suburbs and wholesale! I finally found Cheddar Wurst at Stew Leonard's. I have looked for Cheddar Wurst in every NYC grocery store since having it a Jim's family reunion 3-4 years ago. It's good, but I don't know if it's good enough to warrant my constant searching. You know when something is so elusive that you become preoccupied with capturing it? Like Jim and fireflies, Rayden and pigeons, that's me and Cheddar Wurst. But now the search is over and I have two packages sitting in the freezer. Nice.
After shopping we went back to Myra's and Paul fired up the grill for some burgers, excellent rib eye steak, and some marinated chicken. Damn good rib eye steak! We finished up with some chocolate donut ice cream (good idea Eric!) and some key lime pie. Not good together, but separately, very good. Mmmm...I love food.
